An Introduction To Me

1997 was the year that R.Kelly released his hit song “I believe I can fly”. However, it was also the year that I was born; May 15th at 22:47 to be exact. Since that day I have always been known as T-Dog. Not a pet or the underdog but a normal teenage girl. I was brought up by my parents from day one. My mother is Filipino and my father is English; making half of each. Both of my parents have always told me to make the most of my life. I've
always grown up knowing who I wanted to be; a princess.
You may say live in a house or a castle, you may even think I have no chance of being Rapunzel; but my hair is long enough and I God damn feel like one. But otherwise I'm just simply a teenage girl living an average life. Life - what an incredible word. Humans are considered the most intelligent species on this planet. However, we are also the worst.
On results day in the summer of 2014, I didn’t achieve the grades I aimed for. So, I didn't know whether to stay on at college. However, at that moment I was sure of only one thing: I was of no possible economic value to the outside world. Even though I had a job, I only worked 10 hours a week. The whole of my first year at St Brendan’s was even a regarded act of insanity. But now I’ve been given another chance to change. Now I'm staying at St Brendan’s for a third year. J.K. Rowling said that you must not fear failure, not matter how things get.
In my life journey, not many people have believed in me. You get certain kind of people who just always seem to shoot you down. Have you ever considered that everyone is capable of anything? I've always believed it. Humans would go out of their way to destroy and annihilate other people’s dreams just to live better. I hate that. Surrounded by people who used to say that rhyme, about sticks and stones. As if sticks and stones would hurt more than the spoken words, that read out by the demons that troll the earth.
I guess that’s why I'm known as T-Dog because I don’t fit into society, I don’t blend in with humanity. I cheer on the underdog. So, thank you trustees and friends. Thank you for joining me on my journey. Always believe you can fly.
